My Reflection Of The Week
This week in English we learned two new games. The first game we learned was a game called Kabaddi, a sport originally from India. Kabaddi is a non-contact sport that is usually played indoors. There are two teams on each side of the middle line. There are multiple ways of scoring a point, but the main being tagging someone on the opposite team then making your way back to your half. The defenders are trying to stop you by tackling you to the ground before you make it back to your half of the court. We had to adapt this rule as we are at school and on the wooden floor would be dangerous to the rule being wrapping your arms around said player and counting to three.
The next game we learned was a game called Lacrosse, which originated in America. The aim of the game again is to have the most amount of points by the end of the game. To score a goal you need to throw the ball using the "stick" into the goal. You can get the ball to the goal by passing to your teammates or running to the goal yourself. Most of our team would try to run themselves because we didn't have the skill to pass correctly to our teammates to make it to the goal.
Overall I enjoyed experiencing and learning a game I have never played before. While learning these games I came across challenges like adapting the game to suit our class. Not only this but as I have never played these games I didn't have many skills I need to play these games. This made it difficult to score goals but in conclusion, I enjoyed both games and I will continue to play in other PE lessons.
