English-Connections

Today in English we went through a series of work station which each had something to do with augmented reality, virtual reality or video games. so we learnt what the each thing was and how they were different. Augmented reality is when  a bit of virtual reality comes into your world. For example it means that you are still looking at your real world but there is a bit of virtual in your real world. Virtually reality means that you go into the virtual world. So you are stepping into that world and all around is the "reality" so you cant see anything from the real world. This could mean that you wear 3d glasses or a helmet.

An example of augmented reality in the hunger games is when the game makers added a wolf like creature into the game. This meant that katniss could still see the real word around her but there was a bit of augmented reality in her world.  In uncanny valley the "gamers" put on the nose ring and they stepped into a virtually reality that was based on a alien like planet. On this planet their mission was to kill the aliens which were the enemy. The thing was that they weren't just playing a game.I assume that it was the army/government were using the gamers to control robots that were killing real people in probably Syria. When one gamers game glitched he realised what he was going and left the game. The "army" then used another gamer that thought was in a game to kill the other rouge gamer.
